I've seen an issue in Hypermesh 2019 in which the nodes do not appear on the screen.  This makes it impossible to use Hypermesh effectively.

Here is the fix:

create a system variable HW_USE_OPENCL with a value of 0

Ask about videos, lectures, or anything about Mechanics here.

I will do my best to answer them.

Compilers should be installed before ABAQUS if possible so that the paths can be automatically set up.

It is not impossible to work with if the compilers are installed second, but there is more work involved if you install them second.

To see what Simulia used to test ABAQUS 2018 go to this link:
https://www.3ds.com/support/hardware-and-software/simulia-system-information/abaqus-2018/test-configurations-for-abaqus-2018-products/

and then then expand the Windows link, click on the windows 10 link to get a PDF with the test configuration.

Here is what it says for compilers:

Fortran Compiler: Intel Fortran Compiler 16.0
MPI: MS-MPI 5.0.12435.6

... so it looks like Fortran 16.0 is needed. Lastly, here is a link that tells you that Fortran 16.0 is Intel Fortran 2016.

For other versions of ABAQUS, follow similar steps.

Abaqus connector tips (for visualization for connectors)
Abaqus connector tips (for visualization for connectors)

1
At visualization module, you can display connectors as followings

View - ODB display option - Entity Display Taps - Check show connectors

if you needs related points, axes and connector types, also check highlight connector points, show local axes, connector type

2
Output variables related to connectors are CTF (*total forces and moments) and CU (relative displacements and rotations) which are not default variable and commonly used.
If Above variables are not requested, you can not check that whether connectors are modeled properly and its reaction force (when connector displacement applied) or reaction displacement (when connector force applied).

*As you know, 'total' means 'elastic + plastic'

At step module, you can add field output related to connectors as followings

- Creat Field output request

- set 'domain' to be 'set' and select wire set at which you want to see outputs
* if 'domain' is 'whole model', you can not see the CTF and CU

- check CTF and CU
